Organik (The Java Resource) Release Notes

This Alpha release of Organik has been seeded with data taken from Java FAQs and other web pages on the subject of Java. The FAQ questions and answers have been attributed to our (imaginary) users, giving the system a set of users with differing areas of expertise and interest.

The installed system resembles an Organik installation that has been running for a time, with the users asking and answering questions. The users’ profiles have evolved to reflect their questions and answers, as well as their own stated interests and expertise.

The names of the existing users can be found on the User tab of the Administration Control panel. These users all use their first name as their username and their second name as their password, with "37" on the end.

That is, "Ross Rasberry" has username "ross" and password "rasberry37".

You can login as an existing user and examine their profiles, questions and answers, or create your own users by registering from the login page. Experiment by asking questions, reading the answers and sending questions to other users (Advisors). You can then login as the chosen Advisor(s) and answer the question. If you enter a distinctive Expertise Profile for a user you should find that questions on that area are routed to that user.

There are no seeded newsgroups. You can set up newsgroups to read on the Newsgroup tab of the Administration Control panel if you wish to explore using them as a data source.

There are a number of Discussion Forums, but they currently have no content. Experiment by joining a Forum and posting questions, answers and follow ups.
