Retrieving Information from Organik

 

 

Organik stores information from a variety of sources, including Newsgroups and other databases. Information is also generated by Organik users through their discussions using Organik. All of this information is stored in a database, which users can search by asking questions. Organik uses relevance feedback searching.

Asking a Question

Clicking on the Ask button takes you to the Ask A Question page.

Type your question into the text field and click on the Ask Organik button. This will generate a list of results. To view a result simply click on the result description. To refine your search you can alter the text of your question; or you can choose the results that most closely answer your question by checking the checkboxes to them. Resubmit the question by clicking on the More Results button.

Asking Advisors

After asking your question and retrieving results -

Click on the Select Advisors button. You can (optionally) change the text of your question and add extra information. The advisors shown are those whose Profiles most closely match the subject of your question. You may (optionally) deselect one or more Advisors from the list if you wish. Set a priority and a level of detail required and then click on the Send Question button. The Question Sent page is shown. This shows which advisors your question has been sent to

Reading Old Questions and Answers

Clicking on your Asked folder will take you to a list of questions you have asked in the past. Clicking on your Answered folder will take you to a list of questions that you have answered in the past. Selecting a question will allow you to read the answers to it, and to add new text into the dialogue.
