he hotel and travel sector exposition was held in 1895. The idea for this exposition came from Mr. N. Legrand, and was elaborated by the chairman of the executive committee, Mr. N.A. Calisch, and the architect Evert Breman. The Queen-widow, regent of the kingdom, was pleased to be patroness of the undertaking. Almost all countries in Europe were present at this exposition. M.W. baron du Tour van Bellinchave officially opened the exposition. Again the main entrance of this exposition was reached by passing the Rijksmuseum gate.

he biggest attraction of this exposition was "Oud Hollandt", a faithful imitation of a 17th century village with a canal, a market square, old houses, gates and gatekeepers, and an old Dutch band. A basin was dug out, where a realsize model of a ship, the "Prins Hendrik", floated. On board was a restaurant. A balloon was showed which could ascend a considerable height but could not drift off while it was hold by a line, as well as a gigantic elephant, a construction of wire, mortar and plaster. More than once there were huge fireworks. During this exposition, which was held from 11 may until 31 October, one million people were registered as paying visitors.
