Constant elastic modulus alloy, Elkaloy
Constant elastic modulus alloy, Elkaloy Elkaloy an Elinvar-type alloy, was developed in Japan by Masumoto Hakaru,Saito Hideo and Kobayashi Takeo. It is composed of cobalt, iron, chromium and nickel and, in the case of Elkaloy II and Elkaloy III, molybdenum. The temperature coefficient of the elastic constant is almost zero. The chromium content makes Elkaloy highly resistant to corrosion.
Temperature coefficient (-10 ` +40) :
   Elkaloy I +0.04x10-5(Sample I)
                              -0.1x10-5(Sample II)
   Elkaloy II +1.5xI0 -5
   Elkaloy III Virtually zero
