Matsushita Electric's Philanthropic Activities
Sponsorship of the New York Symphonic Ensemble Performances

New York Symphonic Ensemble Performance at Tokyo, 1995
(Matsushita Electric Multimedia Center, Shinagawa)

The New York Symphonic Ensemble comprises leading members of two of the most famous orchestras in the world, the New York Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Mr. Mamoru Takahara, the Japanese conductor of the ensemble, also serves as a sound technology consultant to Matsushita. In this connection, the New York Symphonic Ensemble has held concerts every year since 1992, with Matsushita volunteers taking part.

These joint concerts, with Matsushita's Chorus Club and Jazz Band taking part, are a unique example of the Company's philanthropic activities, and the money earned is donated to artistic activities for the disabled and local communities in the host cities.
They are held at sites where Matsushita is located such as Osaka and Tokyo, and CD recordings are made. Concerts such as these are a highlight of Matsushita's cultural and musical support efforts. In addition to giving financial aid, the Company also provides personnel, facilities and technical assistance.
