The consort of Vishnu. Goddess of luck and prosperity.

She is Venus, born when the milk sea was churned in ancient India, the genesis of the universe for a thousand years. The story of the churning of the milk sea is introduced in this tour. Because of her incredible beauty, Gods and Asuras, one and all, proposed marriage to her. But without hesitation she sat on the left knee of Vishnu.

She is worshiped for her beauty, her quality of obedience, her gentleness and her splendor. She herself also incarnates with her husband. Her incarnations, as a princess of Krishna, Rukmini, and as a princess of Rama, Sita, are famous.

In Buddhism, Laksmi is painted as "Kisshoten".
