10:35 A.M. on 17th December in 1903. Observed by only 5 village people, "Flyer", on which the younger of the bicycle-selling Wright Brothers, Orville, rode, floated lightly in the air. For 12 seconds it flew and then landed. The flight distance was 36.6m. Here, humanity's long-held dream came true. It was really a beautiful, stable flight.

The Wright Brothers prepared very well. They studied Lilienthal's glider and the bird's gliding principle. Under the advice and encouragement of Langley, the brothers invented a mechanism called the "Bent wing" to control the posture of flight. Devising this mechanism and a light engine of 81kg, they put natural principles and artificial systems together.

On this successful day, at the fourth flight, the elder brother, Wilbur, piloted and the duration of flight was 59 seconds over a distance of 259.7m. It was exactly a perfect flight.
