1.0 - Introduction
This program was designed to print log sheets for contests in
a neat and orderly fashion for actual submission to contest
coordinators. The program, because it is public domain, has
very little error checking and should be used EXACTLY as is
described below. The program works well with an Epson MX-80
or IBM Graphics Printer. If you have a different make of
printer, try it out and see what happens - you may be pleasantly
suprised.
1.1 - Operation
Simply type in LOGSHEET while at the DOS prompt (i.e. A> ). The
program will load and paint the initial screen. At this point,
turn on your printer, after setting it to TOF (Top of Form). As
the questions are asked to you, answer them as you wish to have
them appear on the actual log sheet. Your call/QTH can't be longer
than 76 characters, and the contest name can be no longer than
30 characters.
The start and finish numbers are for those people that did not
print out enough log paper the first time, and need to print
more. Usually, you will answer START with 1 and FINISH with the
number of QSO's you estimate plus 100 for good measure (and some
incentive).
The program will print out the log sheets as well as a summary
page. Be sure to sign the summary page as recommended by the
ARRL (American Radio Relay League).
2.0 - Value Donation
I honestly believe that ham radio operators are one of the most
friendly and hospitable groups around. However, I also believe
that they are also one of the cheapest. Say what you will, but
this is an honest opinion made in good faith, and meant to
insult no one. I formed ABS to write business software, and found
that hams love having new exciting software in their hands as
well as any business, so I devote much of my free time to writing
ham radio software.
However, I have never seen such flagrant abuse of the U.S. Copyright
Law by any group of people before in my life. I cannot and will
not lecture about why software should be paid for, but instead
offer the following compromise. Since you probably have NO desire
to pay me for ham radio software, at least make some contribution
to a worthy cause on the premise that 'You don't get nothing for
free.' Please send a contribution of $5.00 to:
St. Jude's Childrens Hospital
c/o 358 48th Street
Brooklyn, NY 11220
Make sure to note 'WB2MAE' on the memo line of your check. Thanks.
The donation you make is tax deductible and goes to a good cause:
OUR FUTURE - OUR CHILDREN
Please note that your name will go on my mailing list for future
ABS Public Domain Ham Radio offerrings (like FASTDUPE.EXE).
