Seahaven Towers 2.0 For Microsoft Windows
-----------------------------------------
This is Seahaven Towers, a solitaire card game featured in the San Jose, CA
Mercury News Computing section on June 5, 1994. The goal of this game is
to arrange the deck of cards into the four suits. The game begins with
the entire deck visible, and you must rearrange the cards and move them into
the order Ace, 2, 3, ... King. Many users find this game highly addictive,
and have suggested it be treated as a controlled substance.
Additional features of the game include:
- a status bar that tells you why a move can not be made
- sound effects that can be toggled on or off
- an autoplay mode that automates the tedium of making obvious moves
- more than one game can be played at a time; game windows can be
iconified, and all games and window positions are remembered across
sessions
- full undo and redo, all the way back to the start of the game
- a win & loss history is kept, and the history can be cleared
when the losses start to pass the wins :-)
- maintains a history of your longest winning and losing streaks
This game is shareware, and I am asking for a $10 registration fee. This
version of the game is a demonstration version, and has all of the above
features, except that two of the features have been limited:
- the autoplay will only move cards Ace through 6, you will have to
move cards 7 - King yourself,
- the Undo/Redo will only operate on the last three moves; because
undo is used to start a game over, you can't start a game over
once you have moved more than three cards.
In the registered version, autoplay works on all of the cards, and Undo/Redo
will work all the way back to the start of the game. The registered
version will also allow you to start a game over from the beginning.
Registered users receive FREE updates via email! If you do not have email,
then updates will cost $1.50 (US) to cover the cost of disks and postage.

REVISION HISTORY:
Changes from version 1.0 to 1.5:
- added large card images, good for 800x600 and up resolutions
- added a longest winning streak and a longest losing streak
to the score history
- improved card interaction, it is now much easier to drop cards
around the screen (the cards only have to touch, the cursor no
longer must be over the place where you want to move the card).
- fixed a memory leak bug
- fixed some display refresh problems
Changes from version 1.5 to 1.6:
- Daniel Di Bacco created some beautiful card backs and a new icon
for the game. Be sure to check out the "Seahaven" card back, it
will change depending on the time of day you start the game (or
when you select it from the Options menu, too.)
Changes from version 1.6 to 1.6.1:
- Fixed a bug that would cause the program not to run.
Changes from version 1.6.1 to 2.0:
- Added good looking small cards, replacing the psuedo cards from
previous versions
- Added small card backs (scaled down versions of the large backs);
keep an eye on the changing "Seahaven" card back here, too.
- The game window positions are now remembered.
- Game will default to card deck best suited to user's display
on the first run of the game.
