America is indeed the land of the automobile. You enjoy the changing
landscape as you travel leisurely down the highway. Mile after mile and
city after city passes by. America is a land of infinite diversity and
charm.
Mindful of the long trip ahead, you pull off the stretch of road
into a small, friendly looking gas station. You look wide-eyed at the
price per gallon, it seems prices are changing by the hour, and you hope
you've brought enough money to last the trip. As always, the pumps are
self service, but you must first answer a brain teaser...
Full of self-important smugness, you accept the key to the city and
proclaim your trivia prowess to the admiring throngs. Yes, you have indeed
accomplished this small part of your task, but the great North American
continent awaits. You are now confronted with important decisions. Which
of the below routes will accomplish your mission with your own traveling style
Consulting your map, you make your best choice, may the force be with you!
As you leave New York City behind, you catch a last glimpse of the
majestic Statue of Liberty. The enduring symbol of the melting pot and
freedom which all american's share. It is freedom of travel that occupies
your mind at the moment, the vast open road. You peer ahead, anxious to
experience the magic and mystery that lies ahead.
Baltimore, the city that reads. American history floods your mind
as you race into the city. Fort McHenry National Monument lies just ahead.
The place were a valiant stand by it's hearty defenders, repulsed a British
invasion and bombardment, the critical battle that turned the tide during
the War of 1812, and inspired Francis Scott Key to write the Star Spangled
Banner. Oh long may she wave...
You sit idle along the side of the road, impatiently waiting someone
to assist you. Not too long later a bright red truck, emblazoned with the
Road Rally Rescue logo roars to your aide. The friendly driver hops out
and slowly shaking his head mutters, "Looks bad...don't know if I can fix
it right here..." He gives it his best shot and you get a second chance.
"Of course, if I can't fix it this time, I'll have to tow you back!"
Through the Gateway Arch you see the gleaming city of St. Louis, and
the Midwest stretching on beyond. At last, the great Mississippi river
crosses before you. You've traveled far and seen much. Your knowledge
has seen you through, but can it sustain you once again? You venture forth
with confidence and commitment of purpose...
