BEShell 0.04 June 13, 1998
Free-Of-Charge-Ware
BEShell is a shell, or frontend if you prefere that name,
to the MP3 encoding software BladeEnc.
I'm not the author of BladeEnc and shall not have any
credits for it. The author is Tord Jansson and he and his program
can be found at the following location.
http://home8.swipnet.se/~w-82625
Tord, on the other hand, shall not be held responsible for any
error BEShell may do to you or your beloved computer.
Any problems with BEshell shall be adressed to me.
Any problems with BladeEnc shall be adressed to Tord.
When that is sorted out, on to the real thing....
BEShell should be rather easy to use. Put it in the same folder as
BladeEnc.exe and everything should just roll.
Start the program, open a WAVfile and encode it to a MP3file.
Every flag/setting supported by BladeEnc can be set via BEShell.
A helpfile is not included yet, if it ever will be on.
You figure it out, or email me.
New in Version 0.04
Added a filelist kinda thing. The files you open for encoding end
up in a filelist and when you think you're done just click the
MP3 button. BladeEnc will do the rest.
Files with the space character in the name is now supported.
This was a limitation to BEShell, not BladeEnc, in the last version.
Changed the opendialog to the "common" one. This was my intention from
the beginning, but I screwed it up.
Things to keep in mind:
If you for some open too many files in the same time, multiple
selection in Windows language, no files at all might end up in the
filelist. Don't know why this happens. I'll try to work it out when
I got the time. Just select fewer files the next time.
I'll try to include a "Select all" feature in the future.
If you get strange error when you try to run BEShell, be sure that
you have the right runtime/systemfiles.
You'll find them on my homepage.
The critical ones are:
MSVBVM50.DLL (sp2)
COMCTL32.OCX (sp2)
COMDLG32.OCX (sp2)
TABCTL32.OCX (sp2)
SP2 is "Service pack 2" for those who wonder.
Legal stuff. Think of all those poor artists, Bruce Springsteen i.e,
whos mealticket you might steal by copying his tunes.
That's about it. GO ENCODE........
