GSP HOMEwise Installation Tip
===============================================================
If you experience problems while installing HOMEwise, there may
be a conflict between the system files on your hard drive and
the system files that HOMEwise requires to run. All of the
required system files should exist only in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM
directory - otherwise, a conflict may arise.
FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS ONLY IF YOU HAVE ATTEMPTED TO INSTALL
HOMEWISE AND HAVE FAILED.
To prevent these system file conflicts:
1. Disable any add-on programs you have loaded into Windows,
such as screen savers, anti-virus programs, and shells.
2. Exit and re-start Windows.
3. Open the File Manager.
4. Search your WINDOWS **AND** your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directories
for any of the following files, and delete them. (Don't
worry, HOMEwise Installation puts them all back.)
GRID.VBX
MSAES110.DLL
MSAFINX.DLL
MSAJT110.DLL
PICCLIP.VBX
PPRTR.DLL
SETUPKIT.DLL
SPIN.VBX
THREED.VBX
VBDB300.DLL
VBRUN300.DLL
NOTE: If you experience problems while deleting any of these
files, you may still have an add-on program running
which is causing a conflict.
You may need to delete these files from DOS using the
DEL command.
5. Exit and re-start Windows.
6. Insert the HOMEwise Installation Disk #1 and follow the
installation instructions in the Guide.
If you experience the same problem as you did before while
installing again, your problem could be unrelated to the system
files. Please contact us and describe your problem, and we
will assist you in any way we can.
