  1.         Configure Help
  2.         
  3.    This screen lets you set up
  4. hardware information which  is
  5. specific to your system.  
  6.  
  7.   Yellow  rectangles  indicate
  8. the current  hardware  config-
  9. uration.    You  may  use  the
  10. arrow keys to  highlight (with
  11. the  blinking  white   cursor)
  12. another  option;   then  press
  13. <Enter>  or <Return> to select
  14. this  option.    Selecting  an
  15. option  highlights it  with  a
  16. yellow rectangle and unselects
  17. the    previously     selected
  18. option.

  20. Sound And Music:
  21.  
  22.   If you own  a  Sound Blaster
  23. compatible sound board you can
  24. listen  to digitized sound and
  25. music  while   playing  games.
  26.  
  27.   If you have a Sound  Blaster
  28. Pro  and you installed it nor-
  29. mally,  the   correct  set  up
  30. should be highlighted.  Other-
  31. wise, you first need  to enter
  32. which  Port and Interrupt your
  33. Sound  Blaster  is set to use.
  34. If  you  do  not  know what to
  35. choose,  try    experimenting.
  36. If the port is wrong,  neither
  37. music nor sound will work.  If
  38. the interrupt is wrong but the
  39. port  is  correct,  music will
  40. work but sound will not.
  41.  
  42.   You also need to  specify  a
  43. Sound Blaster driver for sound
  44. to work. The default driver is
  45. called "sndblast.drv", located
  46. in   the   current  directory.
  47. This driver is compatible with
  48. the "CT-Voice" driver  used by
  49. Creative Labs'  Sound Blaster.
  50. If  your sound  card  supplies
  51. another    driver,    use   it
  52. instead.

  55. Video Cards:
  56.   
  57.   Ninty-nine  percent  of  the
  58. VGA  chips will  be  correctly
  59. detected  automatically.  Thus
  60. you should leave "auto-detect"
  61. chosen unless you  have  video
  62. problems.

  64.   If  during a game  you  move
  65. vertically  and  the character
  66. seems to dissappear, or random
  67. dots scroll onto  the  screen,
  68. your VGA chip was  incorrectly
  69. detected.     To  remedy  this
  70. problem, select your chip type
  71. from the menu.
  72.  
  73.   Video    card  manufacturers
  74. usually  obtain   their  video
  75. controller chips from  one  of
  76. the  chip  vendors  that  this
  77. software supports.  So if  the
  78. name of your video board isn't
  79. on our  list,  just experiment
  80. with  different video  choices
  81. until  one  works.    The  few
  82. boards  that  won't  work with
  83. any  of  the  choices  are not
  84. supported.
