DESCRIPTION: Excelsior is a computer role-playing-game (RPG) which returns
players to the classic style of gaming which defined the
standard in the early '80s. In Excelsior, you become a
"fixer" - A demigod with the task of fixing a minor glitch in
the Lysandian universe. A chaotic presence has taken control
of the king and is threatening to disturb the predetermined
destiny of the planet. Your task is to identify the chaos and
destroy it so that Lysandia can be returned to its normal
course.
RESTRICTIONS AND AUTHORIZATIONS FOR DISK VENDORS:
Excelsior is NOT public domain or "freeware", but is being distributed
as "shareware".
Written permission is not required for distribution of Excelsior as long
as the following conditions are met:
- All files supplied by Castle Software on the Excelsior disk(s) are
included on the vendor's distribution diskette. These files may
not be altered. Files may be added by the vendor which provide
the user with technical assistance, startup instructions, the
vendor's name, etc. No files may be added which contradict
information in the files supplied by Castle Software.
- No more than a modest distribution fee may be charged by the vendor.
- In its promotional literature, the vendor explains the nature of
the fees paid by the customer and the obligations arising from
continued use of shareware software.
- Operators of electronic bulletin board systems are permitted to
post Excelsior for downloading by their users as long as the above
conditions are met (if applicable).
- All vendors or sysops must inform Castle Software of the inclusion
of Excelsior in their catalog. This is done to ensure that the
vendor or sysop has the latest version of Excelsior. If a vendor
produces a catalog, Castle Software requests a copy in order to
verify the accuracy of any descriptions of Excelsior.
If the above conditions are met, Castle Software grants vendors and sysops
the right to distribute Excelsior as shareware immediately.
