  9. APCiDOOM is a full front-end for id Software's DOOM and DOOM II.
  10.  
  11. After installation, enter the directory you've chosen (the default is
  12. \APCIDOOM) and type APCIDOOM to load. There's also a APCIREAD.ME! and
  13. LOCKUPS!.WHY file to help get you started.

  15. APCiDOOM supports the following DOOM/DOOM II gaming modes:

  17.     1 - MultiPlayer Modem DOOM/DOOM II via the APCi MultiPlayer Game Server. 
  18.         Yes, up to FOUR PLAYERS can now play together anytime, from 
  19.         anywhere, with their high-speed modem.  A special chat utility 
  20.         enables players to chat and to change WAD files and settings 
  21.         before and between games. 
  22.     2 - Two-player modem DOOM/DOOM II including chat support. 
  23.     3 - Two-player serial link DOOM/DOOM II including chat support. 
  24.     4 - MultiPlayer IPX DOOM/DOOM II including chat support.
  25.     5 - MultiPlayer IPX DOOM/DOOM II in VGC mode via the APCiMPGS.  This
  26.         mode allows local IPX players to play with dialed-in players via
  27.         the APCi MultiPlayer Game Server.

  29. APCiDOOM allows you to keep your DOOM and DOOM II add-in WAD files sorted
  30. into separate directories.  It also allows you to create APCi WAD description
  31. files.  APCiDOOM comes with the following sample add-in WADs, complete with
  32. description files:

  38. Once you have chosen a location for your DOOM and DOOM II level WAD files,
  39. move these files and their descriptions to their appropriate locations.

  41. ==========   Before attempting to play DOOM using APCiDOOM, please read the
  42. IMPORTANT!   online help.  It might take you a whole twenty minutes.  Many
  43. ==========   users have wasted hours of long distance time trying to play
  44.              multiplayer DOOM when just five minutes in the help system would
  45.              have done just as well.  If you still have problems, read the
  46.              file named LOCKUPS!.WHY that is included with this archive.

  48. APCiDOOM is merely client software.  It is NOT the software that provides 
  49. support for multiplayer modem DOOM.  Support is provided by the APCi 
  50. MultiPlayer Game Server.  The APCiMPGS currently supports id Software's DOOM 
  51. and DOOM II.  For additional information regarding the APCiMPGS, please call
