BRIEFING:
------------------
Thank you for downloading one of the most well known Bombing Run maps. For those who do know the history
of Electric Fields, let me take this time now to give you a quick brief. Electric Fields was originally
designed to be released with Unreal Tournament 2003. The map was shown at E3 and is also on the header of
UnrealTournament2003.com, however, due to the highly detailed graphics of the map and constant low frame
rates when being played, the map had to be remade. Juan Pancho 'XceptOne' Eekels did not have time to
remake the map by the games World Wide Release Date, and pulled the map from the game. Currently Juan
Pancho 'XceptOne' Eekels is debating on releasing the map on his own map pack, but there has been no
final word. So we bring you this; although the graphics where only optimized so little, the game is it's
final glory. With all lights, effects, and beauty that made the original so appealing. Be not fooled, this
is the most detailed Electric Fields released at it's release date stated above.
CONTENTS:
------------------
This .zip file should have included four files, they are the following:
BR-ElecFields.ut2 - The Electric Field Map
ElecFieldsTexture.utx - Electric Field Textures
XMaps.int - DECO For all retail maps with the inclusion of Electric Fields
READ ME FIRST.txt - This text file you are reading.
If one of these files are missing, then please do not install this map.
INSTALLATION:
------------------
Extract BR-Elecfields.ut2 into your UT2003\Maps folder.
Extract XMaps.int* into your UT2003\System folder.
Extract ElecFieldsTextures.utx into your UT2003\Textures folder.
* Seems that most maps being created include a file called XMaps.int. When you install this file from
some of the other map downloads, it seems to erase your descriptions for all your retail maps. In our
XMaps.int we insure you that your retail descriptions will remain intacked. We simply have attached
our description at the end of the list and included the whole file. So feel safe installing our XMaps.int
file.
KNOWN ISSUES:
------------------
There are two known issues with this map. While we are working hard to get around the problem, we could not
make it in time for this version release. The two problems are as followed:
1. The game may experience low frame rate when more then 4 people are on the map. This is one of the original
problems since it's design. Depending on your system configuration, you may not notice any issues. However, if
you do, try turning down details in your Settings Menu. Start with Player Detail first.
2. The game sometimes crashes to the desktop if you exit the map then imediately re-enter the map. This has
not caused any harm to anyone's machine or game as of writting this read me. Simply relaunch the game and map.
THANK YOU:
------------------
Thank you for downloading our map. We hope to bring you more unique and left out maps in the future.
Special thanks to X_Streme for beta testing the map.
