  23. INSTALLATION

  25. If you are reading this - you have already installed MP3Detective
  26.  
  27. 1. MP3Detective.exe should be in your programs folder.   You can access it 
  28.    from your Start menu / Programs
  29.  
  30. 2. MP3Detective.exe will run anywhere on your computer but we 
  31.    recommend you leave it in your programs folder and place a 
  32.    shortcut to it on your Desktop.
  33.    (see instructions below to create shortcuts)

  38. DESCRIPTION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  40. No longer do you have to remember which folder each song is in, 
  41. or need to go searching through folders and subfolders to find what 
  42. you want to hear.
  43.  
  44. A simple but effective program which you keep on your desktop, for 
  45. easy access, which allows you to search all your music folders or 
  46. drives for MP3 music with specified text within their names.
  47.  
  48. To search multiple drives - separate each drive with * 
  49. and no spaces (except in folder names)
  50. This done automatically for you, though you can type them in manually.
  51.  
  52. Example:        D:\*E:\MP3 folder*G:\Music"
  53.  
  54.    will search 'D:\'           and it's folders and subfolders...   
  55.            and 'E:\MP3 folder' and it's folders and subfolders...
  56.            and 'G:\Music'      and it's folders and subfolders.
  57.  
  58. Note:  Use browse button to simplify this.  
  59.  
  60. It remembers your music folders for subsequent searches. 
  61.  
  62. Hint: It is a good idea to only list folders that have music as this 
  63. will speed up the searches.
  64.   
  65. Simply click the song title to play it on your default MP3 player.
  66. If more than 1 match is found, you can click the "Play-All" button 
  67. and all the songs will be played in the order shown.
  68.  
  69. You can search for two parts of the name at once to narrow down your 
  70. results by using + in between the items searched for. 
  71. (Do not put gaps either side of the + unless you want a gap in the search)

  73. Example:     qu+bo  will find 'Queen - Bohemiem Rapsody'

  102. CREATING SHORTCUTS
  103.  
  104. To place a shortcut to MP3Detective on your desktop, use your mouse
  105. right button and click it while over MP3Detective.exe 
  106. Hold the button down and drag it onto your desktop.   
  107. Release the button and select from the menu that pops up 
  108. "Create Shortcut Here".

  129. This program is provided free for a 30 day trial period.

  131. If during this time you decide you would like to keep it, 
  132. you will need to purchase a licence.   This comes in the form of a 
  133. registration number that is supplied by Chequers Software which will 
  134. license the MP3Detective permanently.

  136. Upon purchasing a licence, if you choose, you will automatically be entered  
  137. into our customer database for free technical support and notification of 
  138. updates, all of which will be provided free.
