SpellBuddy works on any Palm OS 3.1-compatible device (or above).

* 2- Installation *
*******************

1. Extract SpellBuddy.prc onto your PC using a program such as WinZip, or pkunzip.

2. Double click on SpellBuddy.prc to add it into the Palm install app.

3. Put your Palm device into the cradle and press the HotSync button.

4. SpellBuddy is now ready to run

* 3- Using SpellBuddy   *
*************************
To use SpellBuddy, first select one of the predefined spelling lists from the 
dropdown box on the main screen or go into the word list editor to enter your 
own list of words.

SpellBuddy contains three word games: Find Words, Scatter, and Walk the Plank.


FIND WORDS:
Find Words is similar to the familiar word search puzzles. The find word 
generator takes the current list of spelling words and randomly fits as many 
words as will fit into the puzzle. 

The object of the game is to find all the words as quickly as possible. 
To select a word place your stylus on the first or last letter of the word and drag 
it across the screen to the other end of the word. 

Unfinished puzzles are saved automatically when you leave Find Words, and 
can be resumed the next time you enter the game.  The lowest time is saved 
for each word list so you can measure your progress.   


SCATTER:
Scatter takes a random word from the current word list and scatters it on the screen. 
You must try to figure out the word and spell it correctly. Spell the word by selecting
the scrambled letters in order with your stylus. 

Points are deducted from your score with every tick of the clock (how many points and 
how many ticks depends on the difficulty level). 

If you are stumped, you can hit the Hint button and it will place a letter for you. 
Each hint costs you points, so use them sparingly. 

The game continues until you have figured out all the words in the word list. The 
highest score for each word list is saved so you can measure your progress.


WALK THE PLANK
Walk the Plank is similar to the popular hangman game. A word is picked randomly from
the word list. You try to guess the word by selecting letters using the keyboard. 
Each correct letter earns you points. Missed letters cost you points and shorten the plank. 
Too many incorrect letters and the spell buddy goes swimming with the sharks. 

The game continues until all the words have been attempted. The highest score for each word 
list is saved so you can measure your progress.


Settings: The difficulty level for each game can be changed from settings in the options menu.

High Scores: The highest score or best time for each word list can be viewed from High Scores in the options menu.

* 4- Unlocking the game *
*************************

You can use SpellBuddy for 15 days from the time you first play it. 

To continue playing after the 15 day limit, you must purchase a 
registration code from www.handango.com.

To register, you will need to know your HotSync ID.  You can get your 
HotSync ID by running SpellBuddy, accessing the menu, and selecting 
the 'Registration' option.  Your HotSync ID will appear on the 
displayed form.
