Customize menu > Save Custom UI Scheme
Save Custom UI Scheme displays the Save Custom UI Scheme dialog that you use to save user interface settings to a specific file.
When you save a UI scheme, the software automatically saves your settings to each type of customization file. For example, if you save your settings as mysettings.cui in the Save Custom UI Scheme dialog, the software will also save (or create, if they donÆt exist) mysettings.clr, mysettings.mnu, mysettings.qop, and mysettings.kbd with the current settings.
Note: If you overwrite maxstart.cui, you will permanently change the appearance of the startup UI.
Procedures
To save a custom UI scheme:
Customize your UI by hiding or moving UI elements, creating custom tabs, toolbars, colors, menus, keyboard shortcuts, or quad settings.
Choose Customize > Save Custom UI Scheme. The UI arrangement is saved to the current customization files or any new filenames that you choose.
To save UI configuration on exit:
In the Customize > Preference > Preferences dialog > General panel check Save UI Configuration On Exit.
When this control is on (the default) and you exit the program, your UI configuration is saved to the CUI file loaded at start, by default, maxstart.cui. When you restart gmax, your panels and toolbars are restored to the positions where you left them. If you turn this check box off, each time you restart gmax, the panels are restored to the state they were in when maxstart.cui was last saved.
