File menu > Open > Open a file that references other missing files.
If you load a scene with XRefs, but the originally specified path of the XRef object or scene canÆt be found, or if the XRef object name doesnÆt match the object name in the source file, an alert appears telling you this. The alert works in the same way as the missing bitmap dialog, and provides you with three options, described below.
Interface
OK: Lets you open the file. The referenced scene will have placeholders, but will not exist in the scene.
Cancel: OK and Cancel behave the same during file opening. Whichever you choose, the file still opens and the missing XRefs appear as red in the XRef Scenes dialog.
Browse: Displays the Configure Paths dialog, from which you can specify the correct file path. The Configure Paths dialog is identical to the tab displayed by choosing Customize > Configure Paths > XRefs. This lets you add, delete, modify, move up or down the paths the software uses to look for missing files.
