Keep one program on top
Q I want the Windows 95 Calculator visible at all times. How can I make it stay on top, even if it isn't the active window? Failing that, can I download a small, simple calculator that will remain in view while I work in another application? û Peter Worsley A If you're otherwise satisfied with Windows' Calculator, don't bother looking for a replacement. You can make Calculator ù or any other program ù stay on top without spending a cent. Several freeware programs enable you to keep any window you choose out in front. My favourite of these is Don Neufeld's Nailit. You can download this from www.common.net/~cv or from our cover CD. Nailit is astonishingly simple to use. Just run the program, and it puts its icon in the system tray. To make a window stay on top, double-click the Nailit icon (or right-click it and select Nail). This turns the mouse cursor into a thumbtack, which you simply click when you're on the desired window.
