Nuts & Bolts requires more tightening
Tip The Version 1.01 upgrade to Helix's Nuts & Bolts solved numerous glitches in the system maintenance utility, including program-wide incompatibility with the FAT32 file system. But apparently, the upgrade did not fix enough of them. Helix has released a new patch that fixes even more problems. Version 1.03 is now available from the Nuts & Bolts Product Updates page on Helix's Web site (http://www.helixsoftware.com/n&b_updates.html). Among the fixes: · The Discovery module no longer displays incorrect sizes for hard drives larger than 4Gb. · DiskTune now won't trip over sectors marked as bad, and is fully compatible with partitions created by PowerQuest's PartitionMagic utility. · DiskTune now prevents a potentially disastrous incompatibility with the Stacker disk compression utility. · The DiskEdit, Registry Tune-Up, and Cleanup modules all received minor fixes and enhancements. In addition, Nuts & Bolts 1.03 includes a new Unformat utility and a free copy of Cheyenne Antivirus 5.0. Users without Internet access can call Nuts & Bolts distributor, Light Years Ahead, on (02) 9477 6666 to obtain the update. - Scott Spanbauer [ | Category: Bugs and fixes Issue: Jan 1998 Pages: 176 |
