NT fix blocks server crashes


Tip
Microsoft had egg on its face when an enterprising researcher figured out that sending a particularly long URL to Internet Information Server 3.0 (Microsoft's Web server software bundled with Windows NT) halts your server. You'll find a fix (one of a dozen post-Service Pack 3 patches) for Intel-based systems at ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/winnt/winnt-public/fixes/usa/nt40/hotfixes-postSP3/iis-fix/iis-fixi.exe.
