Divide your desktop in Win95

Tip
If your Windows 95 Desktop is a mess of files, folders, and Shortcuts, create wallpaper that divides the Desktop into useful categories -- inbox, outbox, or whatever you want.
To create wallpaper that fills your screen, you first need to know the size of your Desktop (this is also known as your screen resolution).
Right-click the Desktop and choose Properties. Click the Settings tab, and in the Desktop Area look for the line that says something like "800 by 600 pixels" or "1024 by 768 pixels". Make a note of these numbers, then click Cancel.
Next, start Paint and choose Image--Attributes or press <Ctrl>-E. Then, under Units, click Pels.
In the Width and Height boxes, type, in the same order, the numbers you saw in the Desktop properties sheet.
The next step is to divide up your canvas, creating circles, boxes, or other delimiters, using the appropriate Paint tools. Use the text tool to label your categories.
When you're finished, go ahead and save the file, and then choose File--Set As Wallpaper (Centered).
Exit Paint and move your icons into the proper locations. Voilà! Now all you have to do is remember to keep this desk clean.
