What's video shadowing?
Tip In BIOS setup utilities, such as Phoenix Setup Utilities, there is a setting for disabling and enabling 'SHADOW VIDEO ROM'. Video Shadowing loads the Video Adapter BIOS from slow ROM storage into fast memory, making the machine run video functions faster. The memory used is in the address range between 640K and 1Mb, and this may occasionally cause conflicts. If you disable video shadowing, the only change is that your computer may run slower. | Category: Digital Helpline Issue: Sep 1996 Pages: 168 |
