Windows NT 4 service pack 6 |
By the time you read this, Microsoft may have posted Service Pack 6 for its Windows NT Workstation and Server editions; look for a link to this download at www.microsoft.com/ntworkstation/downloads (we'll include it on our cover CD at the earliest possible date). Although SP6 contains Y2K and security patches not included in previous packs, Microsoft says it isn't a mandatory upgrade. As long as you've installed SP4 or later, you can continue to download critical Y2K fixes posted at www.microsoft.com/ntserver/nts/downloads/recommended/NT4y2kpostSP4/default.asp, and security patches listed at www.microsoft.com/security. If you have an earlier version than SP4, just download the latest pack available ù soon to be SP6. - Scott Spanbauer |
