Instead of logging onto the Internet Explorer or Netscape home page every time you go online, set your Home Page Location to your own bookmarks list.

Start by opening the bookmarks Web page that lies deep within your hard drive. In Navigator, choose Open File from the File menu. Open your hard drive, then System folder, then Preferences, then Netscape, then the file called Bookmarks.html.

In Communicator, choose Open, then the Page submenu from the File menu. Open your hard drive, then the System folder, then Preferences, then Netscape Users, then (Your Name), then the file called Bookmarks.html.

In Internet Explorer, choose Open File from the File menu. Open your hard drive, then the System folder, then Preferences, then Explorer, then the file called Favorites.htm.

When the file opens, you'll see its location listed in the URL address strip at the top of the window. Copy the text in that box, and paste it into the Home Page Address field in your browser's Preferences dialogue box.

From now on, when you launch your browser, the first thing you'll see is a page containing your own bookmarks. Clicking on any of the bookmarks will take you directly to that site.
