The ATM experience
Adobe Type Manager has not yet been updated for compatibility with Mac OS 8.5, and some users have reported various weird errors as a result. Until an updated version is released, Adobe offers this temporary workaround: 1. Select Preserve: Line Spacing instead of Preserve: character shapes in the control panel. 2. Activate the Smooth Font Edges On Screen option, but disable Smoothing at Screen Font Point Sizes. Apparently, there is also a clash between ATM and AppleÆs File Exchange control panel (formerly PC Exchange). Deselecting the Translate Documents Automatically option in the File Exchange control panel can stop some errors that have been attributed to ATM. - Matthew JC Powell |
