Ruler begone!


No, it's not a pro-Republican sentiment, it's a Word 98 tip. You can win back a bit of screen real estate in Word 98 by clearing away some of the toolbar clutter. Any toolbar can be converted to a moveable palette by dragging the little grey patch at the far left. Once you've made a toolbar into a palette, simply click its Collapse button (upper right corner) and it becomes a much smaller and more manageable object. When you need to use one of the tools on the palette, just click the Collapse button again and presto! There it is.
