A You're not alone in your wish, so Windows offers an option that makes your system beep whenever you hit one of the standard toggle keys - <Caps Lock>, <Num Lock>, or <Scroll Lock>.

Here's how to activate the beeping. Select Start-Settings-Control Panel and look for the Accessibility Options icon. If it's there, skip the next paragraph.

If the icon isn't there, pop in the Windows CD-ROM. In the resulting blue window, click the Add/Remove Software icon. On the Windows Setup tab, click the Accessibility Options icon, and then OK. Click Yes when asked if you want to restart your computer. After you've rebooted, select Start-Settings-Control Panel. Double-click the Accessibility Options icon. Click the Keyboard tab on the Accessibility Properties dialogue box, check the Use ToggleKeys box, and then click OK.

That's all there is to it. You don't even have to reboot. Go ahead, hit <Caps Lock> and hear for yourself.
