Outlook 98 ù encryption roulette
Do you religiously use digital signatures and encryption in your e-mail? Me neither. Here's yet another reason to do without them. If you set Outlook 98's Digital ID security level to Medium, and then digitally sign an outgoing message, up pops a confirmation dialogue box containing OK, Cancel, and Details buttons. To send the encrypted or signed message, you must click OK. But what if you change your mind and don't want to send the message? Don't click Cancel ù instead of cancelling message delivery, it sends the message without the digital signature. And if the message was encrypted, clicking Cancel sends the message with encryption ù same as clicking OK. Microsoft says it will make the dialogue box behave more logically in the next release of Outlook.
