Buy a house on-line
Q Recently at the Bill Gates presentation at the Entertainment Centre, one of the guest speakers demonstrated a Web site on which it was possible to search for houses for sale, as well as view interest rates and stamp duty calculations. Unfortunately I have been unable to find this site as I failed to write it down. Is there anyone out there who took note of this particular Website? û Kristina Williams A Without a URL some sites can be difficult to find, and unfortunately I havenÆt been able to identify the site you refer to. The pessimist in me says that locating the site youÆre after is like looking for a needle in a haystack, but the optimist in me prefers to think that there is a Help Screen reader somewhere who knows the URL and would love to write in and share it with us. In the meantime, IÆve discovered two useful Australian property Web sites that you may want to check out. One of them may even be the site youÆre trying to find! The first is called R.E.VIEW (Australian Real Estate Online), and can be found at www.property.com.au. It has information for both property buyers and sellers. You can search Australia-wide for properties according to price, location, size, type and method of sale. Your search returns a list of properties that match your search criteria, and provides links to detailed information sheets containing pictures and descriptions of each property. There are also links to some Australian real estate agents and various loan calculators. The second site is at www.yourmortgage.com.au, and this is the Website for "Your Mortgage Magazine". Here you can check the latest home loan interest rates offered by a number of financial institutions by consulting an Australia-wide database that is updated daily. There are numerous calculators to choose from, including a monthly repayment calculator, a home cost calculator, a stamp duty calculator, and links to many more. Other useful resources at this site include property price information for Sydney and Melbourne homes, a postcode lookup service, advice for borrowers, and a guide to mortgage essentials. û Belinda Taylor | Category:Internet Issue: July 1998 |
